What does OSMIX do?
OSMIX is a desktop audio application designed to quickly and easily give you master-level mix of your music.
It’s like having an in-house audio engineer available 24/7, ready to mix your music.
-
What devices are supported?
OSMIX can be used on Mac and Windows computers. We recommend your system have at least 4 GB of RAM.

macOS Catalina 10.15.7 or newer
Intel Dual Core i5 (or faster) or Apple siliconWindows:
Windows 10 or newer
Intel i5 2GHz (or faster) or AMD Ryzen 5 2GHz (or faster) -
Does OSMIX use artificial intelligence?
OSMIX has an intelligent audio engine designed by our team of audio engineers that makes mix decisions by analyzing your project’s audio, in real time, based on the instruments and genre.
However, it does not use AI, machine learning, or deep learning at this time.
Audio FAQs
-
What are multitrack stems?
The audio files that you import into OSMIX are the multitrack or track-out. These are the raw, unprocessed individual instruments, recordings, or performances that make up your project.
Each element on a separate audio file works best (i.e. Kick, Snare, Toms, Bass, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Vocals, etc.)
-
How do I prep my multitrack stems?
We suggest including any creative effects like pitch-correction, amp simulation, and anything that’s a make-or-break to your mix.
Experiment with bypassing other plugins (EQ, Compression, Reverb, Delay).
Export WAV or AIF file types with a sample rate of 44.1kHz or 48kHz, at 24-bit for optimal results. Learn more about exporting audio from your DAW on our tutorials page.
-
What audio formats are supported?
You can import the following file types into OSMIX:
WAV, MP3, OGG, FLAC, and AIF/AIFF
-
What sample rates are supported?
Import audio files at sample rates up to 96kHz. OSMIX will produce a mix at 44.1kHz or 48kHz at 16-bit or 24-bit

How do I import my files into OSMIX?
Start with your audio files labeled and organized into their own folder.
Click Import, then click + Add File and select the audio files you want to import.
You can also drag and drop audio groups of audio files directly into the Import page of the app.
-
Do I need to assign each track a category?
For the best mix result, assign each one of your audio files to a category and type.
-
Can I manually adjust each track?
Yes! From the Import Page, you can adjust gain on each track. You can also set panning preferences on each track.
Once on the Mix Page, use the faders to adjust the volume of each category.
-
How do I change the Mix Style?
By default, your project will start with Modern as the active Mix Style.
On the Mix Page, click the dropdown list above the Mix Knob to select between the available Mix Styles.

How do I authorize my iLok license?
Check out our 1-min tutorial on authorizing OSMIX to your computer.
-
1. Download and install iLok License Manager.
2. Launch iLok License Manager and log in using the iLok account you shared with us during checkout.
3. Your OSMIX license will appear in the tabs labeled “All Licenses” and “Available.”
4. Right-click your OSMIX license and select Activate to authorize your computer or an iLok USB dongle.
Now, open OSMIX and have fun!
Why do I need an iLok account?
We are issuing our software licenses through iLok, a free software licensing manager that’s been trusted by the audio industry for years.
When you purchase OSMIX, a license will automatically be deposited into your iLok account. Authorize this license before using OSMIX or your application may not open or function properly.
If you don’t already have an iLok account yet, create one for free.
